Quite unpleasant experience with the front desk. I believe basic experiential elements of a hospitality business (such as courtesy, kindness and timely delivery( was unknown to the individual who greeted us in, Samantha, who claimed to be a supervisor and asserted his opinions on payments, shoes, and party configuration regardless of if it was requested or not. This is a destination that people come for fun, not to listen to a condescending and entitled individual, almost at the extent of verbal harassment. It was very uncomfortable and would avoid this place in the future at all costs.
Fun, friendly bar featuring many fine beers on tap and a long list of spirits, all at a pretty reasonable price. Try it out on discounted Mondays. Didn’t try the bowling, but it looked great and I’ll be back.
Hosted our teams fun night here and it was a blast. The team made every thing really smooth from drink and food orders to booking multiple lanes on a short notice. Tons of lanes and a decent selection of food and drinks. Did take a minute to get everything out for a large party but all the staff was hustling.
Had drinks and dinner at the bar. The prices were reasonable and food good. The service was amazing. We bowled after 9pm on a week day, they had a deal for $10 per person. Bartender Frank is not only attentive but has dancing skills. Hope Tech City Bowl stays open for the foreseeable future.
Loved the venue. Was at the location for our daughters School of Rock event and staff was most excellent and friendly. Atmosphere was definitely a place we would catch a show at for sure. Love it. And ty for letting SoR host our kids
Spent my birthday here with my family and had fun bowling. I’m giving 2 stars because although the bowling experience was really fun, i had a terrible experience when it came to ordering food and drinks. Frank was flirting with my sister while she was ordering but was really rude to my boyfriend and rushed him to order when no one else was in line. He then laughed in my boyfriend’s face when we decided not to order. Other staff came to apologize on his behalf and said that’s his sense of humor and just rude overall. He came to our lane to “apologize” and says “just wanted to say sorry for upsetting you, not sure how i did but did you still want to order?” At that point, he should have kept that to himself. If he doesn’t like serving people, he should just stick to bussing the tables. Terrible customer service.
Every time I walk into this place it’s like I’m stepping back in time. For those who’d rather spend time doing an activity- this place is for you. And if not the restaurant serves a wicked burger.
To make a profit Bowling alleys need run as efficiently as possible. It makes me really sad when I hear people at the front counter get annoyed and talk down to the staff. And I bet staff have to deal with disappointing people, overstimulated people, groups of them + their kids, a lot....
Other bonuses:
- drinking fountain
- themed events; cosmic bowling 😄
- never a line for the bathroom
- seats for parents and timeout
- waffle fries
The best bowling alley around.
Good priced bowling. Rent a lane by half or a full hour and bring as many friends as you want! You can usually just show up and get a lane without reservations. They have an arcade with some higher end games, like a Halo shooter, but I have never tried them. Decent quick bar style food and movie theater style snacks. I like the cheese curds. They serve alcohol, but I never got any drinks.
I see some people talking bad about it being run done. They must be comparing this bowling alley to some other super high-end places. I think it's just fine and the prices for lanes and shoes are very fair.
Tr@n'Z freaks are the only staff I encountered there who had poor customer service and gave off an unwelcoming vibe. Also, if you're gonna wear a mask, why even work in a customer service job. We can barely hear what you're saying, and those masks aren't protecting you from a disease or virus. 🙄
Imo, this is exactly what a bowling alley should feel and look like. If you're going to a super nice fancy bowling alley, you're gonna pay more for the glits and glamor. Who cares? It's about bowling and friends. No one wants to go to a bowling alley and spend a bunch of money to play 2 games of bowling. You can rent the lane by the hour and have as many people as you want on one lane and smash pins.
